Operational objectives of the Comenius Program:
- To improve the quality and to increase the volume of mobility involving pupils and educational staff in different Member States (COM-OpObj-1).
- To improve the quality and to increase the volume of partnerships between schools in different Member States, so as to involve at least 3 million pupils in joint educational activities during the period of the programme (COM-OpObj-2).
- To support the development of innovative ICT-based content, services, pedagogies and practice in lifelong learning (COM-OpObj-4).
Concrete aims of the Partnership:
- Motivate towards the learning of other languages through the implementation and display of joint projects and living with foreign families.
- Foster the use of new technologies both individually and in the classroom through its use as main communication system in the development of the project.
- Increase the feeling of European Citizenship.
- Break down topics, stereotypes and prejudices by the direct contact with the reality of each of the participant countries.
- Improve the teaching practice through the exchange of experiences.
- Promote equality between sexes and cultures with sports, literary, artistic and leisure activities performed together.
REPORT:
The activities and their temporal distribution appear in the program of the meeting for students and teachers; you can check them on our Web Page inside: meeting < Fourth meeting < “Program”. In this report we are only going to detail the topics that we have talked about and the agreements that we reached.
In this fourth meeting we have reviewed the agreements from our third meeting, we have done our common works, we have analyzed the results of third meeting evaluation, we have taken new agreements to go on with our Project and finally we have evaluated this meeting.
MONDAY 18/10/2010
- TEACHERS’ AND STUDENTS’ MEETING:
The Rumanian Headmaster and teachers gave us the welcome to their school. After that, Rumanian students made a presentation about their country as beginning of this first work session, and later students from each country presented their PowerPoint Presentation, they had prepared before this meeting about three contemporaries who have been successful in their carriers in each country.
TUESDAY 19/10/2010
- TEACHERS’ AND STUDENTS’ MEETING:
In this second work session, students and teachers are split up into international groups to go on doing the common work of this meeting: “What do we need to be successful in the labour world? They started discussing about the needed abilities for each profession.
- COORDINATORS’ MEETING:
1.- Evaluation results from the previous meeting in Poland were checked, conclusions were written to be uploaded to our Web Page. They can be read inside: Meeting > third meeting > evaluation.
2.- With a lot of difficulties, the dates for the next two last meeting were settled: From 5 to 12 February 2011 in France and, from 7 to 14 May 2011 in Lithuania. Although our French partners needed to confirm these dates with their school, since they have some inconveniences.
3.– Our French partners showed us the draft of the programme for the next meeting in France.
4.– We checked the topic of our work for the following meeting, which will be: “Health, alcohol and drug habits. Causes and solutions” and, we agreed that before next meeting, students have to prepare a PowerPoint presentation (10 minutes) about the legislation in their country about alcohol, cigarettes and drugs, as well as the presentation of the national campaigns of prevention from their country. French team will send the guide of the work that will be done during the meeting, as responsible team of this common work. Along the meeting students will have to elaborate their own prevention campaigns, including short advertisements for TV and posters.
THURSDAY 21/10/2010
- TEACHERS’ AND STUDENTS’ MEETING:
Students and teachers went on with their work. For this work session, steps to get success in your working life were analyzed.
- COORDINATORS’ MEETING:
5.- The Coordinator of the Project informed about the intention of her Spanish team of applying for a New Project in the next call for proposals 2011, and she offered to all the other partners the possibility of going on working together in this New Project. After the individual situations of all schools were exposed, coordinators from Poland, Bulgaria and Romania stated their interest in applying with the Spanish team as coordinator school, whereas French and Lithuanian coordinators had planned other activities for the period 2011-2013.
6.- We agreed on the dates of the different steps for the process of selection of our project’s song , as we set in the previous meeting, trying that this event helps us to achieve a good spreading out of our Project at each school, in the same way the selection of our logo was last year.
We agreed the following:
- Students of each participating country create lyrics to the music of Europe anthem (Ode to Joy. Symphony No. 9.Beethoven).
- Each country sends all lyrics that their students have written to Spanish coordinator before 20-XII-2010 (Before Christmas Holidays)
- At each school, songs are voted.
- On 28-I-2011, each school has the winner lyrics, and all countries inform about which one has been to the coordinator of the Project.
- The winner song is recorded by the group and all of us bring it to the Project meeting in France.
- Spanish team collects and uploads them into the Project website before 26-II- 2011.
- Students from all participant schools vote for the best performance online from 12th to 19th March 2011.
- On 19th March Spanish Coordinator informs about the winner song.
- For the last meeting in Lithuania, all participants will perform the winner song in the live concert, which will take place in the meeting.
7.- The date for the meeting in France is confirmed from 5th to 12th February 2011.
8.- To do more attractive our Project website, it was proposed that from now on a photograph and a short description of people attending meetings could be set in the Website. For next meeting we state as deadline to send this information to the Spanish coordinator 15-I-2011.
9.- Common works proposed in the application form of our Project were checked, from all of them there is only one we won’t be able to do it because of lack of time, it is the “School Diary”. However, we will do the song of the Project, which was not programmed.
10.- We checked the level of spreading out of the Project at each school. In fact, all of us have a notice board of the Project, inform families and partners from the school, as well as the media on a regular basis. We consider that the competition of our logo last course was an important event of letting know our project at all schools and, we hope that this course the competition of the Project song has the same repercussion.
FRIDAY 22/10/2010
- TEACHERS AND STUDENTS MEETING:
The different international groups of students presented their conclusions helping themselves with posters. All their work and this final exposition were filmed to elaborate a video which will be the final product of this work. Rumanian team is the responsible team of elaborating the video.
After the last cultural visit, students and teachers filled in the questionnaire of evaluation and gave it to the Rumanian coordinator, so that the corresponding conclusions of the evaluation of this meeting could be extracted.
During the farewell dinner certificates of attendance were given to all participants.
Meeting each other again is gratifying, we meet friends …. European friends!
