Operational objectives of the Comenius Program:
- To improve the quality and to increase the volume of mobility involving pupils and educational staff in different Member States (COM-OpObj-1).
- To improve the quality and to increase the volume of partnerships between schools in different Member States, so as to involve at least 3 million pupils in joint educational activities during the period of the programme (COM-OpObj-2).
- To support the development of innovative ICT-based content, services, pedagogies and practice in lifelong learning (COM-OpObj-4).
Concrete aims of the Partnership:
- Motivate towards the learning of other languages through the implementation and display of joint projects and living with foreign families.
- Foster the use of new technologies both individually and in the classroom through its use as main communication system in the development of the project.
- Increase the feeling of European Citizenship.
- Break down topics, stereotypes and prejudices by the direct contact with the reality of each of the participant countries.
- Improve the teaching practice through the exchange of experiences.
- Promote equality between sexes and cultures with sports, literary, artistic and leisure activities performed together.
REPORT:
The activities and their temporal distribution appear in the program of the meeting for students and teachers; you can check them on our Web Page inside: meeting < sixth meeting < “Program”. In this report we are only going to detail the topics that we have talked about and the agreements that we reached.
In this sixth meeting we have reviewed the agreements from our fifth meeting, we have done our common works, we have analyzed the results of the fifth meeting evaluation and annual evaluation, we have taken new agreements to finish our Project and finally we have evaluated this meeting.
MONDAY 9/5/2011
- TEACHERS’ AND STUDENTS’ MEETING:
The Lithuanian Headmaster and teachers welcomed us to their school and showed it to us. After that, we visited the Town Hall and we were received by the Mayer of the Town. In the afternoon, we followed the cultural activities of our Program.
TUESDAY 10/5/2011
- TEACHERS’ AND STUDENTS’ MEETING:
We had our first work session; students were split up into five international groups to start doing the common work of this meeting: “Our similarities and differences”. They had to prepare plasticine animations and take photos. After lunch we went on the cultural activities of our Program.
WEDNESDAY 11/5/2011
- STUDENTS
Students had their second work session: ‘Plasticine animation’ (uploading photos into Movie Maker and putting them into a storyline).
- COORDINATORS’ AND TEACHERS’ MEETING:
All coordinators and teachers who didn’t attend classes had a meeting and deal the following points:
- The coordinator of the Project informed about all final requirements that we need to finish our Project with our National Agencies and obtain the 20% left of our grant. These are: a memory of our project, the financial report and the documents that justify the total number of mobilities and our final product. As all our common and individual works are collected in our Web Page, the final product will be a copy of this in a DVD, which Spanish team will prepare and send by post to all partners. Therefore, she asked to all partners to send all their final individual works before 20th May, in order to upload them on time.
- Conclusions of the evaluation of this meeting and its report in all languages should be finished up to 25th May as deadline so that Spanish team was able to prepare the final Product and post it before 2nd June, to be sure that everybody has got it with time enough.
- We checked the conclusions of the evaluation results from the previous meeting in France these were uploaded to our Web Page during the work session. They can be read inside: Meeting > Fifth meeting > evaluation.
- Results of the annual evaluation at each school were compared, conclusions were written and uploaded to our Web Page as well, this document can be read inside: Meeting > Sixth meeting > annual evaluation.
After lunch we continued with the cultural activities of our Program.
THURSDAY 12/5/2011
Some teachers attended classes of different subjects and students prepared their presentations.
Lithuanian Headmaster and coordinator gave us the certificates of attendance at this meeting to all participants.
Students presented the final product of the meeting – “Our similarities and differences” with Plasticine animation’ videos. Which were very interesting and enjoyable!
Being our last meeting we didn’t have to do new arrangements for the following period, so we finish our work sessions and spent the rest of the time with the cultural activities of our Program.
FRIDAY 13/2/2011
We completed the activities of our program and had a nice farewell dinner.
The last time to be all together, but perhaps .... we could find each other in a next future, working in a new Project or just as friends.
